MS Explanation[]

This unit capable of atmospheric flight was based on the Gouf Flight Test Type that was part of the MS flight program. When the Principality of Zeon was expanding the frontline, complex terrains would inevitably stall their progress, which is why there was an urgent need to recover advancement speed. Since using Gaw attacks carriers for transportation was restricted to areas with air superiority, so developing units with flight capability to improve on the mobility of units was slowly underway. The earlier models adopted enhanced thruster output, and attached thermonuclear rocket engines to the legs, but the outcome was underwhelming, so the project had to downgrade to continue. The leg engine that was too complex, difficult to maintain, and a main reason for accidents, was replaced by 4 thermonuclear jet engines, with enlarged verniers, Surface wings were added to the backpack and skirt armor for aerodynamic control, making the unit the only MS with true air combat capability during the One Year War.
