MS Explanation

A second generation Mobile Suit designed as part of the Z Project. Originally designed to be able to transform, it was redeveloped as a single-form machine due to problems with tensile strength. Despite its original concept as a machine able operate both in space and on land, is has nonetheless found many uses as a one-off experimental MS. Due high mortality rates resulting from the sudden standardization of beam weapons, emphasis was placed on maneuverability to evade attacks. The entire frame was dramatically lightened, and everything but the arms and legs were fitted with new " Wing Binders" allowing for AMBAC braking. With its ability to dive at high speeds while maintaining control, it is well-suited for high-altitude dogfights. Additionally, its armor is coated with a beam-resistant layer to reduce damage taken, giving it its characteristic golden shine. It stands at the pinnacle of 2nd generation Mobile Suits.
